Professor Nick Moore is the Chairman of Acumen, a research and consultancy company established in 1982 to undertake studies of the use of information in advanced societies. He has undertaken a large number of projects and studies for the European Commission, Unesco, various British government departments and a wide range of other organisations. Among his publications are Information- intensive Britain (Policy Studies Institute, 1991) and Access to information (Policy Studies Institute, 1995).

He joined the Policy Studies Institute in 1989 to establish a programme of research into the policy issues raised by the development of information-intensive societies.

Before joining PSI he was Professor of Information Management at Birmingham Polytechnic

He has extensive international experience of research and consultancy. He has published widely and is a frequent speaker at international conferences. He is a member of the International Institute of Communications.
