Gautham Thambidorai is a Senior Staff Engineer in the Systems Infrastructure Group at Google Inc. His areas of interest include computer architecture, large-scale distributed systems, information retrieval, natural language interaction on the web, performance monitoring, and compression techniques.

He liked to work on new products that organize existing information in novel and interesting ways. While at Google, Gautham has been involved in the design and implementation of Google's latest generation indexing and query-serving systems for better performance and ranking. He has also worked on aspects of Google's search ranking algorithms.

Gautham received his MS in Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland (College Park), working on novel scheduling techniques for SMT processors. While at University of Maryland, he also worked on improve natural language interaction on the web. He received a BE from Anna University (Guindy College of Engineering).
